November Challenge

This one also comes from Nathan on the Geometry Math Team...

Prove that the LARGEST ANGLE of ANY TRIANGLE is ALWAYS GREATER THAN OR EQUAL TO 60 degrees.

I would recommend solving it by indirect proof.  Start by saying "What if the largest angle is less than 60? ...

  1. Hi, it can also be equal to 60 degrees. If a triangle is equilateral, then the angle measures are 60 degrees. There are three angles in a triangle. There are 180 degrees in a triangle. 60x3=180 so it is possible to have the largest angle equal to 60 degrees.
